Gary's roots in Thurston County
run deep. He has called Thurston County home for nearly 30 years
and is a 1982 graduate of North Thurston High School. He also
attended South Puget Sound Community College and St. Louis University
School of Medicine.
Gary
has served as a Deputy Coroner with the Thurston County Coroner’s
office since 2001. Gary routinely conducts death scene investigations,
determines cause and manner of death, and notification of next-of-kin.
He brings a high degree of sensitivity and compassion to the
families he serves that are distraught and in need of understanding.
Gary is organized and has a natural ability to lead others without
being heavy handed. His natural leadership skills and understanding
of death investigation as well as his excellent communications
skills brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the citizens
of Thurston County.

| Gary honorably
served in the United States Navy for nearly ten years. In 1985 he
married his high school sweetheart, Chris. Their two great sons,
Justin and Joshua have been raised with the high moral values that
they believe is the foundation of a family structure. Their oldest
son, Justin, enlisted in the United States Army during his senior
year at Rainier High School. He was tragically killed in Iraq on
June 24th 2006. Joshua is a sophomore at Rainier High School and
was chosen to represent Washington State as a Student Ambassador
on a trip to Australia in the summer of 2006. |

| Gary possesses
a wealth of knowledge in his career field. His compassion and attention
to detail was highlighted while working as a Funeral Director and
Embalmer at Mills & Mills and Olympic Funeral Homes for over
eight years. Gary is able to perform responsibilities that many
people are simply unable to do. His emotional strength allowed him
to graciously help families with duties associated with funeral
preparations. These include removal of the deceased loved ones from
private homes, nursing homes and hospitals, making funeral arrangements
with bereaved family members and preparing their loved ones for
burial with dignity. He has consistently proven himself as a pillar
of strength to anyone in need. |
